Boruto: Naruto Next Generationsis currently in its timeskip and the series is now very close to its return, with around a month to go before fans get to see their beloved characters once again. The last few chapters of the Boruto manga were certainly very interesting with lots of incredible developments ongoing, such as the switching bodies of Boruto and Kawaki and, of course, the timeskip training.

The timeskip training in Naruto was an incredibly iconic moment for the series and for Boruto, fans would hope that the series garners the same praise from the fans. Recently, some new details about the return of Boruto were made public and Sarada Uchiha's post-timeskip design was one of them.

Boruto's Timeskip

Boruto began its timeskip shortly after Kawaki clashed with Boruto Uzumaki atop the Hokage faces. The two engaged in a very deadly duel, which ended up blinding Boruto Uzumaki in one eye. Kawaki was then restrained by Konoha Shinobi, however, Momoshiki ended up giving him an opportunity to escape, which he took with both hands. Later on, Kawaki realized that escape from Konoha was hard, despite Momoshiki's help and that is precisely when Ada stepped in and granted him his wish subconsciously.

Kawaki wished to be adored just like Boruto Uzumaki, however, as Naruto's real son and not his adopted son. He wished to switch lives with Boruto Uzumaki and that is precisely what ended up happening, thanks to Ada's Omnipotence ability. Kawaki and Boruto ended up switching bodies and while this was incredible for Kawaki, it spelled doom for Boruto. The entirety of the village now hated him and was trying to kill him actively for killing the 7th Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, which is something that he also had them believe.

Thankfully, Sarada Uchiha was not affected by the Omnipotence ability, for some reason and, thus, she made Sasuke know the truth, who then rushed to Boruto's rescue. Together, Sasuke and Boruto left the village and aimed to get stronger to come back and defend both the village and rescue Naruto, as well as settled the score with Kawaki. With Sasuke and Boruto gone, all the other ninja had their own incentives to grow stronger as well. This is especially true for Sarada Uchiha, who aims to become the 8th Hokage of the village and, at the same time, is in desperate need for more attention in the story.

Sarada's New Design After The Timeskip

Recently, Sarada Uchiha had her new design revealed in what appears to be a promotion for the upcoming Boruto manga that will cover the post-time skip events of the story. Much to the surprise of the fans, Sarada Uchiha has received a drastic overhaul in her outfit. Fans have already seen the post timeskip designs of Boruto and Kawaki and they don't appear to be all that different from what they are used to seeing prior to the timeskip.

Boruto has Sasuke's clothes on and generally appears to be an older version of himself, and the same can be said for Kawaki. In the case of Sarada, however, there is a complete overhaul. Sarada has a completely new haircut and she now has very short and spiky hair. At the same time, her glasses are now rimless and she appears to be wearing Uchiha earrings. Sarada also has a choker on her neck which appears to have the symbol of the Haruno Clan on it, which is the representation of her mother's family.

She also sports a black jacket, which is way too similar to the Akatsuki cloak. Sarada looks completely different and gives off a more dark vibe in her new character design, which has split opinion among the fans. Regardless, this design is quite intriguing and it will be interesting to see how the story puts it to use.

Sarada's New Powers After The Timeskip

Sarada's design is not the only thing that fans will see different about her when she returns after the timeskip. Fans already know that Sarada Uchiha is a member of the famed Uchiha clan and her powers are immense. Sorry that also recently awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan and fans have not yet seen its powers.

Her Mangekyo Sharingan design was also altered in the volume release of Boruto very recently. While, initially, she had a smaller sun in her eyes, now, the design has changed slightly and the sun symbol in her eyes goes all the way to the ends of her iris.

When it comes to the Mangekyo Sharingan abilities of Sarada, fans do not know what she has in store, however, given that her eyes look like the sun, the Amaterasu would be a safe bet for one eye. As for the other eye, Sarada will most certainly have a unique ability to access. Her uncle, Itachi had the power of Tsukuyomi, while her father, Sasuke, has the power to manipulate the black flames using Kagutsuchi. In the case of Sarada, fans hope for a very powerful ability so that she can keep up with the likes of Boruto and Kawaki and rightfully claim her spot as the 8th Hokage of the village.

Sarada's Role In Boruto After The Timeskip

Fans hope for Sarada Uchiha to receive a more pronounced role in Boruto after the timeskip. Before it, Sarada was only relevant in certain parts of the manga, such as to fight against Boro. Other than that, the vast majority of the focus at the end of the story ended up being on Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki, which is a shame, given that there are quite a lot of interesting characters in the story. Even if the story doesn't focus on the many side characters, someone as important as Sarada should be receiving more time regardless. Sadly, the manga failed to do that in its first part and fans hope that the second part can reprimand that.

Sarada aims to be the 8th Hokage of the village and this is the most prestigious position that one can hold in the world of Naruto. This would also make Sarada one of the most important characters in the entire series, if not the most important, and for someone with that level of importance being attached to them, receiving so little screen time is simply not an option. The Boruto series writers need to do better with Sarada in the future and, hopefully, they will. If her design is anything to go by, Sarada fans have a lot to look forward to. However, whether Kishimoto and Ikemoto will do her justice or not remains to be seen.

Boruto is available to read for free on MangaPlus by Viz Media.
